Plot:
A gang of robbers run themselves like a professional business. They get away from their crimes in brand new shiny vehicles... Not just one vehicle... they each drive off behind the wheels like they are each running an ad for their chosen brand. And they are dressed in neatly ironed designer suits in their time off. Trés Cool... Right?

They have rules on what to do when they get caught and indeed one of them (played by T.I.) is just coming out from being caught. He wants back in at a time when the gang is about to call it quits after a major successful operation... an operation that has a motivated detective hot on their trail. T.I's character convinses them to an éncore. Time is all the detective needs to connect the dots...

Oh man... Where do I start?

Trés Cool?... Wrong! I mean... when you get some smooth neatly clad dudes walking away from an energetically exploding helicopter like it was simply background art, you lose some of us.

The characters try too hard to be cool that it sometimes gets annoying. Most of the guys are of color... so perhaps the movie makers wanted to move away from the usual black stereotypes. Well they tried too hard and these thieves became a little too articficial for me.

But for those who like to watch "cool" will like watching Sierra Leonean, Ghanain actor Idris Elba do his thing. He is probably the only credible movie-type actor of the lot. The rest including T.I and Chris Brown look like they could do better in a soap, though T.I is not that bad and that could be because his character was a little more interesting than the rest.

Action-wise I think the movie was cool... and I think if they had multiplied the action scenes by two the movie could have been great. But even here the editting was trying a little too much especially in the police chase of Chris Brown's character. Some of the editting made one dizzy.

I almost forgot one thing... I found the accents annoying...lol. Could just be me. But between Elba's character's accent (Elba is originally a British actor by the way), that of his sister in the movie and the accent of T.I, I got some unusual sudden intolerence for accents... This coming from a guy that speaks English with a weird accent.... Strange...lol. Probably just a personal issue here.

So do see Takers for some of the action scenes. Its definitely not a bad movie to watch but don't be too excited about going to watch it.
